“2 months ago I embarked on a journey to try and regain my health. At 44, I was borderline obese for my size with hypertension and generally very out of shape. I decided to do the classic and get a gym membership, try and eat less and exercise more. Easier said than done. After 10 years of inactivity, it was very overwhelming. I really had no idea where to start. At the suggestion of a family member, I decided to hire a personal trainer at Steve Nash named Ricardo. Best decision I ever made!!! Ricardo approached my situation in a very well thought out and methodical fashion. We discussed lifestyle choices, fitness goals, diet and nutrition to develop a custom plan for my needs. His engaging and energetic style helped to motivate me beyond my expectations. And his encouragement fueled my drive to succeed at each interval of triumphs. Truly a motivational master!!! I’ve lost almost 10 pounds in just over two and half months with the boot camp style program Ricardo designed for me!! He has helped me push myself to a new level of fitness I didn’t think possible. I feel fantastic; brimming with energy and focused on fine tuning my conditioning ongoing. “I am a 71 year old male and had been active all my life until I had knee replacement surgery in 2012. It took almost two years before I felt comfortable with the titanium knee and most of the pain was gone. Unfortunately I put on around 30 pounds in weight and had become a couch potato. During the last year I tried different weight loss plans tried to get off my butt and do more walking. None of that worked as I just couldn’t work up enough motivation. Nov. 28, 2015 (201.5 lbs),  I’m walking out of Walmart at the Uptown Mall with a coffee in one hand and a McDonald’s apple turnover in the other hand. I look up and see Steve Nash Fitness World. I went in to check the place out and was very impressed with the equipment and the overall facility. I signed up! After talking with the Ricardo, a Personal Trainer I decided to go with a personal training 3 pack. Ricardo talked to me asking what my goals were and what I wanted from the facility. I want to lose weight and to tone my flabby body. He set me up on the Dotfit site, where I could record food intake noting calories, protein, carbs and fat. One could also record your calories burned through exercises. I found the Dotfit to be a very useful tool to help achieve my goal. Ricardo also put me on the Body Composition Analysis scale. For me to reach my goals by May 2016, I was limited to 1693 calories per day along with the exercising plans. After three training sessions with Ricardo I was so impressed that I bought the 12 pack. Ricardo set me up a routine and would pay close attention to proper body positions when doing different exercises. Ricardo not only inspired me  but he provided me  with the motivation I needed to achieve my goals. After a total of 15 personal training sessions with Ricardo I was back on the Body Composition Analysis scale. Today January 29, 2016, my weight is 183lbs.  I am motivated and I am in the Steve Nash Fitness club working out for 60- 90 minutes three to four times a week and enjoying it.
